Much of our lives is shaped by the stories we are told and learn from. From fairytales, epics, and children’s books, stories were part of what shaped my childhood. My thesis is a love letter to the books I grew up reading. For my thesis, I created story covers and an interior illustration for Brothers Grimm Stories. By exploring and researching stories both old and new, I wanted my thesis to become a visual investigation into how art and typography can change over time as well as a glimpse into what these styles look like when combined. Visual storytelling through books, tv, and other media, has been a big part of what has shaped me today, I wanted this thesis to become a culmination of what formed me now and what I want to move towards.
