The Lines That Led Us Here is a thesis project that explores identity through family history, ancestry, storytelling, and design. As a first-generation Chinese-American and biracial individual, my identity stems from the connections and relationships I have with my family and culture.
This thesis is explored through four publications, and a vlog series titled the Thesis Diaries. Each of the four small publications utilizes color, type, imagery, and writing to tell meaningful stories. Each piece includes in-depth research, interviews, and or personal reflection and touches on the topics of identity, immigration, and migration. The Thesis Diaries series sets out to document and share my creative process, research, and projects, with classmates, peers, friends, family, and people of the internet.
