For my Senior Thesis, I will create three-dimensional scenes that play with lighting, texture, and space based on settings from literature and poetry. They will be made of many materials: all will include photo-gels, mat board, clay, and other recycled materials. I intend to create drama and atmosphere while still incorporating typography and elements from the original text. My intention is to blend storytelling with ambiguity: I want to give the viewer the same feeling and energy that the text has (and make sure nothing that I create contradicts the text in terms of what was objectively within the setting) while still leaving enough mystery for the viewer to want to know more about the original literary piece.
