My thesis will focus on a practical application of my research proposal. I think game design is the best platform for presenting this research, as it has a wide range of interactions that bring the audience an immersive experience. Set in a floating dreamscape, this game places the narrative in the discourse of social comparison of the young generation in the media-saturated environment. The game follows the journey of the main character - Irene, who decided to get out of the FOMO cycle.
The story will highlight the two-sided ability of social networking (same situation, different experience with different behaviours), and offers a game experience through the player’s attempt to get out of the increasingly stressful situation. The game will be presented not only through gameplay but as a short animation.
